2017 Info coming soon
READ TO RAISE MONEY AT LAKE FOREST!
RAT is our first of two fundraising events for the 2016-2017 school year! We hope that you join us in raising funds to support student programs such as reading and math intervention, improve technology, and provide performing arts opportunities for our children.
RAT THINGS TO KNOW
Read–A –Thon Rally is Friday, Nov 4th
All who have waivers turned in by the RAT Rally will have a ticket with their name on it put in the raffle for prizes. Names will be drawn at the Rally.
A Special Prize will be given to the child with most minutes read at the end of RAT.
A Special Class Party will be given to the class with most minutes read at the end of RAT.
How do I get started?
Read-a-thons are simple to start. After you complete your online waiver, we will send home login instructions with your child’s personal code. You just go to our RAT home page and click on the Get Started button. The sign up process is easy to follow.
What books do our readers use?
The great thing about our program is that you can choose the books your readers will read or they can read their own choices. The important thing is the reading time not the reading materials.
THE PRIZE CENTER
How do our readers earn prizes?
Readers earn RAT Bucks for every sponsor they get. At the end of the event the readers spend their RAT Bucks and purchase any prizes they choose. A reader will be credited with 15% of the money they individually raise to spend in the prize store.
How do readers get their prizes?
Readers spend their RAT Bucks on any prizes they want to purchase. Ten days after your Read-a-thon ends we close the prize centers and pull all of the prizes purchased and ship them to your group.
Are you interested in being a RAT Sponsor?
Contact our RAT Chair for more information.
What happens to personal information?
All the email addresses and payment information (reader and sponsor) entered into our system is destroyed within 90 days of the end of your read-a-thon. We do not share email addresses with any other companies or people and we do not use the addresses for solicitation or any other purpose.
What if I want to opt out of emails?
Every email we send either on your behalf or our own we include an Opt Out link. We completely remove your email address from our system, so you will not get any additional emails.
What is a Read-A-Thon?
During a two-week period students reading minutes will be tracked using the online READ-A-THON (RAT) tools. The reader and their family tell friends and family about the program and ask those people to support the reader by making a small donation online through the RAT website.
Thank You to Our Sponsors!
